Khachatur Abovyan House-Museum with the support of Yerevan Municipality announces photo competition within the framework of “Ararat Ascent 190” anniversary events
The works of the 25 finalists selected by the jury will be exhabited at Khachatur Abovyan House-Museum, and the authors of the three winning photos will receive:
- First place – 150,000 AMD
- Second place – 100,000 AMD
- Third place – A three-day trip to Western Armenia.
On September 27, 190 years ago, Friedrich Parrot, Professor of Dorpat University,and Khachatur Abovyan overcame Mount Ararat. This was the first ascent and the first scientific study of Mount Ararat (1829).
General Provisions
- Any person over 18 years of age, from any country may participate in the competition
- Each participant can present up to 5 photos on the subject of Mount Ararat
- Photos submitted or published in other competitions are also accepted
- Photos should be in JPG format only, 72 dpi – 1100 pixels long edge
- Finalist photographers will be further requested to provide high quality digital or printed version of the photo for exhibition.
- The digital version of the photo should be sent to the gmail araratascent190@gmail.com ,in the field of the subject mentioning “At the glance of Ararat”.
In the letter there should be mentioned:․
- Author’s name and surname;
- Age
- Residence
- Phone number
The finalists will be announced on September 22.
The finalists’ photos will be exhabited at the Khachatur Abovyan House Museum on September 27 as part of the Ararat Ascent 190th anniversary event.
Awards:
The winner of the competition will be selected by the jury
first prize – 150,000 AMD
second prize – 100,000 AMD
Third Prize: A three-day trip to Western Armenia
