Travelling notes

The part of the Abovyan’s heritage are the precious travelling notes. In the notes Abovyan described his tours to Ararat and journies in the territory of Armenia. 

In the work ‘Journey of Mr. professor Parrot and psalm-reader Apovean’ Abovyan depicted their ascent to Ararat. He also gives infomation about Parrot arrival to Etchmiadzin. 

‘To my kind and beloved pupil’: this is a letter to his pupils written from Etcmiadzin. Abovyan made this journey from Tiflis to Armenia.

‘The new ascent to Ararat’: in the travelling note Abovyan describes the second journey to the top of Ararat with an English traveler Henry Seimour.

‘Journey to the ruins of Ani’: the travelling note consists of 8 parts.

‘The western three wise men’: in the work the author shows his and Abich’s journey to Maku. Abovyan played an exceptinal role in Abich’s scientific expedition.
